We have started this blog not only to satisfy our own curiosity, but to gather information and to complete a classroom project. Kindle has been out now for some time as well as other reading devices such as books on tape/cd. We were wondering can books survive? All of our research shows that many people are moving toward the Kindle because of the accessibility and its ability to store hundreds if not thousands of books in one location. We even read a site that said students in the classroom were starting to use them to save money on textbooks, it was an easier way to get books rather than purchasing new ones each year. On the other hand, we have also seen sight were people are completely against the Kindle and other devices because it takes away from the nostalgia of sitting down reading a good book (someone even mentioned the smell of the the older books. So here is our question will books be a thing of the past as we advance technologically? And how would one get an autographed copy of their favorite author's new book?
More things will be posted as I find answers and comments on this topic.
